Fisher Price Toys – A history
Fisher Price Toys earned their well-deserved attention in 1931 when Fisher, Price and Schelle took the wooden models of toys to the American International Toy Fair in New York where they became a huge success. Thus “Dr Doodle” was the first Fisher Price toy to be sold in 1931. Fisher Price moved to plastic in the 1950s as it made the toys more colourful. The Play Family toy series which was introduced in the 1960s became a very popular set of toys from Fisher Price. In 1969, Fisher Price was taken over by Quaker Oats Company who were the owners of the company till 1991.
Finally in 1993 Fisher Price became a subsidiary of Mattel Inc. If earlier Fisher Price had only toys, today Mattel has started marketing their preschool products also under tag of Fisher Price. Today Fisher Price toys has many famous names of characters like those of Disney, Barney, Sesame Street, etc. And characters are not all. Besides toy vehicles, houses and farms Fisher Price toys include some of the most inspirational and educational products for children, right from the time they are toddlers.
Fisher Price toys make the initial learning and education for children fun and enjoyable. There are many toys that can help babies in speaking and learning basic facts.
